Control of Superhydrophilic and Superhydrophobic Graphene Interface

چکیده
Superhydrophobic and superhydrophilic properties of chemically-modified graphene have been achieved in larger-area vertically aligned few-layer graphene nanosheets (FLGs), prepared on Si (111) substrate by microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition (MPCVD). Furthermore, in order to enhance wettability, silicon wafers with microstructures were fabricated, on which graphene nanosheets were grown and modified by a chemical method to form hydrophilic and hydrophobic structures. A superhydrophilic graphene surface (contact angle 06) and a superhydrophobic graphene surface (contact angle 152.06) were obtained. The results indicate that the microstructured silicon enhances the hydrophilic and hydrophobic wettabilities significantly.

Photoinduced cleaning of water-soluble dyes on patterned superhydrophilic/superhydrophobic substrates.
Herein we present a novel but simple method to fabricate photoinduced cleaning substrates with patterned superhydrophobic hierarchical silicon cone arrays (SCAs) and superhydrophilic TiO(2) nanorod clusters (TNCs). In our experiment, the photoinduced cleaning properties of the obtained substrate are investigated by repeatedly adsorbing and decomposing rhodamine B (RhB) molecules for at least si...
متن کاملA fast and effective approach for reversible wetting-dewetting transitions on ZnO nanowires
Here, we demonstrate a facile approach for the preparation of ZnO nanowires (NWs) with tunable surface wettability that can be manipulated reversibly in a controlled manner from a superhydrophilic state to a superhydrophobic state. The as-synthesized ZnO NWs obtained by a chemical vapor deposition method are superhydrophilic with a contact angle (CA) value of ~0°. After H2 gas annealing at 300 ...

The diversity of plant surface structures, evolved over 460 million years, has led to a large variety of highly adapted functional structures. The plant cuticle provides structural and chemical modifications for surface wetting, ranging from superhydrophilic to superhydrophobic. In this paper, the structural basics of superhydrophobic and superhydrophilic plant surfaces and their biological fun...
متن کاملTwo-Dimensional Open Microfluidic Devices by Tuning the Wettability on Patterned Superhydrophobic Polymeric Surface
We present a simple and economical method to produce a potential open microfluidic polymeric device. Biomimetic superhydrophobic surfaces were prepared on polystyrene using a phase separation methodology. Patterned two-dimensional channels were imprinted on the superhydrophobic substrates by exposing the surface to plasma or UV–ozone radiation. The wettability of the channels could be precisely...
متن کاملSelf-assembled monolayers of dendron thiols for electrodeposition of gold nanostructures: toward fabrication of superhydrophobic/superhydrophilic surfaces and pH-responsive surfaces.
This paper describes the fabrication of surfaces with different wettability, superhydrophobic/superhydrophilic, and pH-responsive properties. We used a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) of a dendron thiol as the underlying surface for electrodeposition of gold nanostructures. After this modification with a SAM of n-dodecanethiol or 11-mercaptoundecanol, the surface shows remarkable superhydrophobi...
